MERLOT ELIXIR 2012 | BRZANOV WINERY
Dry red wine made 100% from the variety Merlot, by classic fermentation. It is aged for 8 years of which 40 months in new barriques and one year in a bottle. The grape is cultivated on 550 m a.s.l.. It contains 16% of alcohol, no residual sugar and no additives were used. In the production process we only use selected yeast and minimal quantity of potassium metabisulfite. The wine is not filtered.

This wine is made of 100% Merlot variety. The ruby red color reveals forest fruits aromas as blackberry, blueberry and rose hip. The taste feels like roasted almond and vanila complemented with black berry fruits. This wine is 24 months aged in French and American Barriques, that ageing process develop soft ripe tannins and long lasting aftertaste.

This exquisite dry red wine is produced from 100% carefully selected Merlot grapes. The wine is characterized by a deep ruby red color with dark purple hues. The curiosity about this wine is the 24-month ageing process during which the French and American oak barrels were twice replaced with new ones. This rarely used ageing method, 200% barrique, results in an intensive, ripe and complex aroma of black fruits purée, discreet vanilla with mint and clove hints. The taste is rich, full-bodied, harmonious, with an excellent balance, soft tannins, and with a long fruity-and-chocolate aftertaste. A careful cellaring of several years in bottle under appropriate conditions will ensure the development of its further complexity.

Estate bottled dry red wine made 100% from carefully selected Merlot grapes. This wine is characterized by a deep ruby red color with purple hues. The 32 months of ageing in new American and French oak barriques gives this wine a complex nose that reveals fruity and spicy tones, with dominant dark and red berries complemented with hints of vanilla and coffee. The palate of this full-bodied wine is well developed and elegant, abundant in soft and integrated tannins. The liquorice and chocolate aftertaste is long and pleasant.

The smell reminds of ripe cherry and forest fruit, with vanilla notes which are leaving an extra taste of fullness and warmth. Rich in alcohol and recognizable by the long aftertaste. A dry red wine made by vinification of carefully selected Montepulciano (71% ) and Vranec (29%) grapes from Kamnik own vineyards. The grapes are groomed with special care and the method of crop reduction is applied. This wine is characterized by a deep ruby red color and by its intense nose revealing aromas of ripe blackberries and black plums. The taste is full-bodied and remarkable, with combined tones of cappuccino and cocoa, finishing with a long aftertaste. The soft velvety tannins and the harmonic acids enable the several-year ageing capacity of the wine.
